Publishing & quality
What kind of publisher is Lumora?
Lumora is a Saudi-based open-access scholarly publisher. Journals use double-anonymous peer review, CC BY 4.0 licensing, and policies aligned with COPE and ICMJE principles.
How strict is Multidisciplinary Healthcare Journal (MHJ)?
MHJ accepts only outstanding work. Manuscripts that are sound but better suited to a specialty scope are typically declined at MHJ and may receive a separate suggestion email for a better-fit Lumora journal.
Are specialty journals lower quality?
No. Specialty journals share the same infrastructure, ethics, and review model as MHJ. The difference is scope fit and MHJ’s higher bar for multidisciplinary excellence.
Fees (APC)
How much is the APC?
MHJ: 2,000 SAR standard / 2,500 SAR golden package. All other journals: 1,500 SAR standard / 2,000 SAR golden package. Charged only after acceptance. See APC information.
Is there a free publication window?
Yes — a limited October 2026 soft launch with free APC for a capped number of acceptances. The window ends 31 October 2026. November focuses on awareness ads for Saudi healthcare providers.
Institutions & SFCHS
Is Lumora documented for SFCHS / faculty promotion pathways?
Lumora journals are registered with the Ministry of Media and trusted in SFCHS contexts as stated on journal cards. Faculty should always confirm current institutional rules with their university and SFCHS advisors. Many Saudi universities allow faculty to count a limited number of peer-reviewed manuscripts per year (commonly up to two, depending on institution and track) — verify your local regulation before relying on any count.
Do you guarantee PubMed or Scopus indexing?
No. We pursue indexing professionally and honestly. We never claim PubMed, Web of Science, DOAJ, or Scopus before official acceptance. Applications proceed when each journal meets criteria.
Authorship & AI
Must every co-author confirm contribution?
For new submissions, yes — each co-author receives a contribution confirmation email. Editors can see status. Production may proceed with an alert if some confirms are still pending. Migrated/retrospective articles are recorded as already confirmed without re-emailing.
Can AI be used in manuscripts?
Yes, within our AI policy: disclosure, human accountability, and no fabricated references or data. Editors may use disclosed AI-assisted checks as part of editorial quality workflows.
Accounts & technical
One account for all journals?
Yes. Sign in once on lumora.sa; the same identity works across journals via secure bridge to OJS.
Arabic full text?
Arabic is a strategic moat. We are integrating Arabic versions of papers; additional languages are planned for 2027–2028.
