Publishing & quality
What kind of publisher is Lumora?
Lumora is a Saudi-based open-access scholarly publisher. Journals use double-anonymous peer review, CC BY 4.0 licensing, and policies informed by international publication-ethics and medical-reporting guidance, including COPE and ICMJE resources. This wording does not claim organizational membership or endorsement.
How strict is Multidisciplinary Healthcare Journal (MHJ)?
MHJ accepts only outstanding work. Manuscripts that are sound but better suited to a specialty scope are typically declined at MHJ and may receive a separate suggestion email for a better-fit Lumora journal.
Are specialty journals lower quality?
No. Specialty journals share the same infrastructure, ethics, and review model as MHJ. The difference is scope fit and MHJ’s higher bar for multidisciplinary excellence.
Fees (APC)
How much is the APC?
MHJ:2,500 SAR. All other journals:2,000 SAR. These APC prices include 15% VAT and are charged only after acceptance. See APC information.
Is there a free publication window?
Any launch waiver or promotional window will be announced with its exact dates, eligibility rules, capacity, and written terms. Unless an active offer says otherwise, the published APC schedule applies only after acceptance; no payment purchases acceptance or affects the editorial decision.
Institutional eligibility
Does publication automatically qualify for a university or professional-promotion pathway?
No automatic qualification is claimed. Requirements vary by employer, university, program, and professional body and can change. Authors must verify the current rules with the organization evaluating their work before submitting. A publisher licence, registration, or displayed regulator mark does not mean that an individual journal or article is accredited, indexed, accepted for promotion, or endorsed by that body.
Do you guarantee PubMed or Scopus indexing?
No. We pursue indexing professionally and honestly. We never claim PubMed, Web of Science, DOAJ, or Scopus before official acceptance. Applications proceed when each journal meets criteria.
Authorship & AI
Must every co-author confirm contribution?
For new submissions, yes — every listed author, including the corresponding author, receives a personal contribution-confirmation email, and editors can see each author’s status. Production starts only after all authors have confirmed, unless the editor-in-chief or an editor records a reasoned decision to proceed, which is kept in an audit log. Migrated/retrospective articles are recorded as already confirmed without re-emailing.
Can AI be used in manuscripts?
Yes, within our AI policy: disclosure, human accountability, and no fabricated references or data. Lumora uses confidential automated and AI-assisted tools to support technical checks, reviewer matching and production quality control. These tools work under confidentiality and data-protection safeguards and never make editorial decisions: every editorial decision is made and recorded by named human editors. Authors are asked for permission at submission; manuscripts of authors who decline are handled without these tools.
Accounts & technical
One account for all journals?
Yes. Sign in once on lumora.sa; the same identity works across journals via secure bridge to OJS.
Arabic full text?
Yes, for accepted articles. The APC includes English and Arabic versions of each accepted article, which the author approves before publication. Additional languages are planned for 2027–2028.
