About the Journal
Multidisciplinary Healthcare Journal (MHJ) is a Saudi, monthly, peer-reviewed, open-access healthcare journal published by Lumora in partnership with the AHSS Society. MHJ publishes research that improves clinical practice, public health, healthcare delivery, patient safety, quality improvement, health professions education, digital health, and related interdisciplinary topics.
Aim and scope
MHJ aims to give clinicians, researchers, educators, students, healthcare leaders, and policy makers a clear, ethical venue for work that is methodologically sound and practically useful. The journal welcomes submissions from Saudi Arabia, the wider GCC, and internationally when the work fits scope and meets peer-review standards.
Typical fit includes (not exhaustive):
- Clinical medicine and multidisciplinary care pathways
- Public health, epidemiology, and population health
- Nursing, pharmacy, and allied health practice
- Healthcare quality, patient safety, and systems improvement
- Health professions education and workforce development
- Health systems, health services research, and implementation science
- Digital health, clinical informatics, and research methods that support healthcare decisions
Manuscripts outside healthcare relevance, or that lack ethics, methods, or reporting clarity, are out of scope.
Editorial model
- Double-anonymous peer review, ordinarily by at least two independent reviewers after desk screening
- Publication decisions based on originality, methodological quality, ethics, relevance, clarity, and contribution to healthcare knowledge — not on author identity, institution, or ability to pay
- Open access under Lumora’s publisher licensing terms (see journal policies and publisher copyright policy)
- Online ISSN 3152-8775 (registered)
What MHJ values
- Scientific integrity, transparency, and honest reporting of limitations
- Practical healthcare relevance without overstated claims
- Appropriate statistics, complete methods, and reusable reporting where feasible
- Respect for patients, participants, communities, reviewers, editors, and readers
- Clear routes for corrections, retractions, complaints, and appeals
Fees and indexing (honest)
Submitting and reading are free. An article processing charge (APC) of 2,500 SAR applies only after peer-reviewed acceptance. Payment does not influence editorial decisions. Rejected or withdrawn manuscripts are not charged.
Lumora pursues indexing applications when each journal meets the relevant criteria. MHJ does not claim PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ, or any other index before official acceptance. Indexing is never guaranteed.
